As the politicking from the election rumbles on, the HE diary has been shaken up a little. Some announcements have not changed – HEFCE recurrent grant funding has been confirmed, as has the reduction in HEFCW allocations, which sees £28.5m removed from the pot. The DfE has gone ahead and published the experimental Longitudinal Education Outcomes (LEO) dataset which, whilst a controversial topic, is obviously not controversial enough to be delayed until after the Queen’s speech.
The TEF is however, and the announcement of the Year Two results, for which many institutional marketing teams were bracing themselves, has been postponed. Individual HEI results were to be released to institutions on Monday, with the full public announcement on Wednesday, but these have now been delayed. HEFCE Chief Executive Madeleine Atkins has “written assurance that this is a postponement, and that the rescheduled dates will be issued shortly.”
