BUFDG has launched a new topic-based SORP discussion board, to support your efforts in working through the implications of the new SORP. It is intended as a self-help tool to enable you to share good practice, technical issues you encounter, thoughts and ideas - as well as a forum to ask questions and give answers.
This is a dedicated discussion board for the SORP, which sits alongside the other discussion boards on the BUFDG website. Uniquely for BUFDG discussions, audit firms and funding councils are able to read it too (they are only able to read the SORP discussion boards - all other parts of the site are still for HEI members only). BUFDG FRG, the firms, and the Funding Councils will review postings and will pick up any issues identified so that, where it is thought necessary, they can issue further guidance.
There are 5 topic areas; employee benefits, fixed assets, revenue recognition, service concessions, and general.
In order that you receive an email alert whenever questions are raised on this new discussion board you will need to add this to your interests as follows: Login to the BUFDG website and click on the MY BUFDG icon. Then click on the INTEREST tab, and select one or all of the SORP discussion boards. While you are there, why not check that the rest of your interests are up to date?
Please can you all ensure that you post your SORP queries in the new discussion board only and within the correct topic area in order to keep all queries together and easy to find. All other SORP queries have also been moved from the current FRG discussion board to the SORP board.
