Tax-Free Childcare Scheme delayed until 2017

The Supreme Court delivered its judgement last week in the case brought by some existing Childcare Voucher providers challenging whether the government's introduction of the new Tax-Free Childcare Scheme is legal. The Supreme Court dismissed the case and therefore Tax-Free Childcare will be introduced. However, the case has delayed the preparations for the new scheme and the government has therefore announced that the scheme will be delayed until early 2017. Therefore, employers can continue operating Childcare Voucher arrangements for longer than expected. Workplace nursery arrangements are not affected by the changes.
