Matt Sisson, Projects and Membership Manager
The BUFDG Fraud Working Group met on Tuesday. One of the key topics discussed was the BUFDG and NAFN Fraud Alert Service, which will be updated with new features next week. Over 130 of our members have now signed up to the service which is available without additional charge to BUFDG members (BUFDG has a corporate subscription). There are several institutions that are yet to take advantage of NAFN – we would like to encourage all institutions to sign up to gain access to the benefits and also to improve the information sharing capability within the sector. Meanwhile, Sandor Boyson a professor of supply chain management at the University of Maryland, told the FT that procurement teams need to ensure processes are in place for fraud prevention: “In some companies, there is literally no governance of risk in their [IT] supply chain.” Threats can be both internal and external.
