Part Time Matters

Last Monday, a campaign to promote the benefits of part-time study was launched by an alliance of universities, businesses and unions. According to a Universities UK (UUK) press release the Part Time Matters campaign aims to tackle the “40 per cent overall downturn in students enrolling for part-time undergraduate courses” by highlighting the “benefits of part-time study to the economy, society and the individual.” The initiative is backed by institutions such as Birkbeck (University of London)and The Open University, NIACE, UUK and million +. The UUK submission to the Spending review also urges the government to accept that part-time students are essential for future skills growth and has established a review  - the deadline for comments  is today at 5pm.
