Proposed changes to allied health funding

HEFCE has provided more information on the proposed changes to funding of nursing and allied health professional training, which if implemented would see funding for students in health brought in line with other areas of HE in receiving loan finance to support tuition fees and living costs. A recent HEFCE circular letter outlines how the council hopes to identify how to best allocate funding, including seeking additional student numbers data through HESES survey and the commissioning of a costing study. Of course much still rests on the progress of HE legislation through parliament and the House of Lords, and the outcome of the above exercises.
