International employee taxation is something of a minefield – and getting it wrong can be expensive in terms of taxes and penalties, but errors can also have a very detrimental effect on the morale of secondees.
It wouldn’t be possible to learn everything you need to know about international mobility in one day, or perhaps ever, but this course aims to improve your understanding of where the rules come from and what they mean in practice. This should make it easier for you to ask the right questions at the right time, to know when to call in expert advice, and how to make the most of your professional advisers.
BUFDG are very grateful to KPMG who have agreed to provide the technical input for this course. Two senior managers, Andrea Raper and David Lowe, and a Director, Brian Ashmead-Siers, (all based in the Midlands) together with Adelle Greenwood who is an NIC specialist, will share the load between them.
The day will cover the income tax and NIC considerations when employees come to the UK from abroad and when your employees leave the UK to work overseas. The case studies will cover a range of countries, but especially the most common locations such as China and Asia [for outbounds] and Europe [for inbounds].
This course will be very practical but will require a working knowledge of PAYE so will be suitable for Tax and Payroll Managers.
