This year, the ever popular two day Tax Conference will be held on the 8th and 9th June at Burleigh Court, Loughborough. The event will aim to cover direct taxes on the first day, and indirect taxes on the second day. Participants can book for either or both days - please use this link for both days.
We have not yet finalised the programme of events, but are hoping that we will be able to offer the sessions detailed below, all of which will be presented by experts from within the sector and professional service firms who specialise in education and HEIs.
On Direct Taxes we are hoping to offer sessions on:
i-xbrl; the revised corporation tax guidelines, recent changes in PAYE, the new 50% tax rate and pensions for high earners; expats and inpats; managing your group; and doing business in the US.
On Indirect Taxes we are hoping to offer sessions on:
Update on the issues addressed by BUFDG during the year including eligible bodies, zero-rating, Lennartz and Fleming claims; the impact of the new place of supply rules in particular on subcontracted research; property taxes update; recent case law review; TOMS, and what you need to know about customs duties.
In addition to this, CCH will give a practical demonstration of how their product can save you time and money and help you stay professionally informed. They will also run through their excellent special offer for universities (now extended until the end of June).
We are also going to take the opportunity to canvas your views on which areas you think BUFDG should bring to the fore over the next year, and we will be recruiting willing and able volunteers to assist us in moving these issues forward.
The final programme should be published by mid-May - places always sell out very quickly so don't delay and book today!
