Last month we launched the report of this year’s Procurement Value Survey (PVS), which looks at the extent to which procurement teams influence spend and drive efficiency in the sector. 89 English universities responded, quoting an impactable spend total of £7.7bn. In some of the other measures, total efficiencies for the year were £316m and spend with small and medium-sized companies totalled £1.55bn. The full report, splitting the data by size of institution for effective benchmarking purposes has been sent to, and can be accessed by all heads of procurement and finance directors. If you need a copy and haven’t received one, drop Matt an email.
For the first time this year the survey asked a question about how procurement teams deliver value directly for students. We had some excellent responses to this, and are grateful to SUMS Consulting for writing up this new report, which includes case studies from Lincoln, Leeds Beckett, and Lancaster. It’s a fascinating and concise read – so do take a look.
