The government’s long-awaited Industrial Strategy white paper was published on Monday, although to say it was overshadowed by news of a royal engagement is something of an understatement. Whether it’s due to our obsession with celebrity, or a lack of enthusiasm for the strategy, by 11am in the morning all mention of the Strategy had completely disappeared from the BBC News website. No prizes for guessing which story is more important for the long-term success of the nation…
Thank goodness then for the award-winning folks at Wonkhe, who have produced a useful round-up of the strategy from a HE perspective. Interestingly, they conclude that the lack of headlines might actually prove beneficial. Time will tell. The Guardian thinks it is a good step forward.
