FRS102 courses, webinars, and training materials

11 November 2015      Rachel Ward, Learning and Development Manager

We’re running a practical half day course suitable for all tax staff who prepare corporation tax returns and/or VAT annual partial exemption calculations. The course aims to bring delegates up to speed on the key changes brought in by FRS102 that could impact on corporation tax and VAT.  It will also provide an opportunity to consider how you can work with your financial accounting colleagues to mitigate (or at least plan for) any adverse implications which may arise in your university or its subsidiaries. The Financial Reporting Group is also supporting a number of free Webinars delivered by KPMG, for BUFDG members who need help and support with technical aspects of restating their 2014/15 accounts. The first webinar covers Income Recognition, and will take place on Tuesday 24th November at 12 noon. Click here to register. The contents include key issues for transition, hot topics in income recognition, and the impact of changes in Deferred Capital Grants and Service Concessions. Participating members are invited to submit questions in advance by emailing Siobhain.

The second webinar covers general FRS102 issues, and will be held in January 2016, with the date to be confirmed. Bookings for the second webinar can be made soon and interested members are invited to highlight any specific areas that they would like to see covered by emailing Siobhain.

Finally, don’t forget that the excellent BUFDG-commissioned FRS102 training materials are also available here!
