Spotlight on Intro to Counter Fraud e-learning

09 April 2020      Amanda Darley, Head of Operations and Engagement

We're going to start highlighting a few of our e-learning courses in some regular news articles to help provide a better understanding to a wider group of people about what our e-learning covers, who it is suitable for, and who can access it etc.

We're starting with our Intro to Counter Fraud course. This course is available to everyone in all BUFDG member universities, as it is one of our free courses, and is also suitable for and relevant to everyone in all universities. Fraud can occur anywhere in an organisation, and can be committed by external or internal individuals, and therefore anyone in a university could become aware of something which doesn't seem right. What should you do if you suspect something is wrong?

The Intro to Counter Fraud course will:

  • help you understand what fraud, bribery and corruption looks like in a university;
  • teach you what can be done about it;
  • help you understand how to take action to respond appropriately if you have suspicions; and
  • provide resources and policies that can help you and your university.

As one of our free courses you do not need to be in a BUFDG Pro subscriber university to access this course, and it should be useful to you no matter what your role at your university is. To access the course you need to work in a BUFDG member university and have either a full BUFDG website account, or an e-learning account - if you don't already have either of these you can apply for one here. Once your account has been activated you can access all our e-learning courses, including Intro to Counter Fraud, here.
