BUFDG e-learning competition

31 March 2020      Amanda Darley, Head of Operations and Engagement

Most of us are currently stuck at home (or safe at home, to view it more positively) and for many that means getting used to a new way of doing things. You may currently find yourself extremely busy dealing with issues thrown up by the Covid-19 emergency, or you may find that without access to the office, and with lots of activities on hold, you are wondering how to use your home-working time productively.

For those in the former camp, good luck with everything you have on your plate - don’t waste any further time on this article, but do come back to it as and when things calm down for you.

For those in the latter camp looking for a way to use your time effectively, consider using the time to improve your skills by using BUFDG Pro’s e-learning modules (and our free e-learning modules). All you need is internet access (and a large enough screen to such as a PC, laptop or tablet), as there is no need to use your university’s VPN or anything else. All BUFDG member universities have access to our free e-learning modules, and almost all member universities (86%) have access to our subscription service BUFDG Pro modules. Any employee of a member university can access the modules, and if they do not already have a BUFDG or HEPA web account, they can easily do the ‘quick’ registration for an e-learning account. If you need any further information about the modules or BUFDG Pro, please contact Amanda or Rachel.

We’ve put together a guide to which modules are suitable for which type of role, both within central finance and in the wider university, so you can see at a glance which modules you should work through. And to make it more interesting we’re running a competition to see who can complete the most modules!

The competition will run until 31 May and will also include all courses/modules you have completed so far in this financial year (so we will look at modules completed from 1 August 2019 to 31 May 2020), and we will be updating a leader-board every week to show who’s in the lead and what the target is for you to beat!

Will there be prizes? Of course there will! Whoever completes the most modules (whether from our free e-learning modules or from BUFDG Pro) will receive a £50 John Lewis voucher, and there will be a second and third prize of a £30 voucher and a £20 voucher.

(And remember – ANY employee of a member university can access the modules by signing up for an e-learning account – so please share this email with any contacts across your university who could benefit from the e-learning modules).

Good luck all…

On your marks - Get set - Learn!
