Supply Chain Management Trainees, Opportunities in Scotland.

Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC), the Centre of Procurement Expertise for the Scottish Higher and Further Education Sectors is looking to recruit for their established Supply Chain Management Development Programme. APUC is headquartered in Stirling, Scotland and has regional offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The Programme aims to recruit and develop future management level supply chain / procurement professionals who have the potential to develop their careers in APUC and / or in client institutions.

APUC establishes collaborative agreements on behalf of the sector, delivers best practise expertise and guidance to the sector and provides e-technology support on a shared service basis. APUC is committed to training and developing procurement skills in the sector ensuring our client institutions can achieve best value, compliant, ethical and sustainable procurement.

We are therefore looking for highly committed and driven individuals to join us on our Supply Chain Management Development Programme during which the Supply Chain Management Trainee(s) will undertake a series of placements in APUC and externally within Universities and Colleges. The role may require periods of frequent travel and may require possible temporary (up to 6 months) re-location dependent on placements (such travel and temporary re-location are funded by APUC).

We are looking for exceptional graduate applicants (HND level or above) with qualifications in subjects where the candidate believes, and can demonstrate, that they can translate their learning into developing relevant procurement skills. Candidates must have a keen interest and knowledge of sustainability, social and environmental responsibility issues and a desire to work within the Higher and Further Education Sectors. Starting salaries will be in the region of £19,000, rising incrementally during the programme (dependent on performance).

Procurement is a rapidly developing career path, with procurement professional's salaries' now frequently exceeding those of peers in many traditional professional services, including marketing and finance. The expected Programme start date is early November 2017.
