Both of these changes are detailed, among a number of others useful articles, in August’s FRG newsletter, which is now available to download from the website. There’s a common theme across the newsletter – that “the power of accounting no longer resides with the number crunching technocrats, it resides with those who can communicate and explain what is going on!”, and includes articles on Narrative Reporting, the Impact of Brexit, Hedge Accounting, adjusting for FRS17, and more.
There’s also a reminder that, within the next week or so, the group hopes to re-issue guidance from Mercer’s on corporate bond discount rates for the USS and SAUL modeller on an ‘as at 31 July 2016’ basis, to help you calculate your actual 2015/16 provisions as well as a revised forecast for 2016/17.
