  • The Chartered Institute of Taxation, in association with the Irish Tax Institute, will be holding a seminar on Brexit: Practical Tax & Legal Considerations from 8:30-11am on Thursday 28 September in London. Further details and booking can be found here
  • With the London Management Accountants Conference now full, we do still have some places available at our Leeds conference on the 12th October. The venue is fantastic with Leeds train station just across the road. Bookings will close on the 3rd October if tickets are still available. The event costs £250 to attend.   • The minutes from the latest BUFDG liaison meeting with the HMRC Public Bodies Group HE/FE team are now available on our website. Topics discussed included HMRC communication to universities, Corporate Criminal Offence under CFA2017, Summit Electrical & students residences treated as dwellings, web advertising on Google, Facebook, Twitter etc, SAE Education Ltd decision, and VC's accommodation. 
  • A reminder that there are a number of excellent resources on the new Criminal Finances Act and the Corporate Criminal Offence on the BUFDG website. KPMG also ran a webinar on the topic this morning, which we'll be making available later to members who couldn't make it in real time. 
  • Our Job of the Week is for a Director of Procurement Services at the University of Central Lancashire. The successful candidate needs to have “an extensive track record of managing procurement teams and activities including public procurement”, “experience in medium sized + multi-faceted organizations”, and “the ability to engender commercial procurement principles and integrate best practice in public procurement processes”.
