HMRC issues its latest webinars for employers

If your university provides expenses and benefits to your staff, HMRC has released some new  webinars as well as online support in order that you can determine the correct tax and NIC treatment of benefits and expenses.

As these are live you will be able to ask questions during the webinars.

Expenses and benefits – trivial benefits:  This webinar gives insight into what counts as a trivial benefit using practical examples.

Expenses and Benefits – employee travel: with more flexible working arrangements it is becoming more and more important not to fall foul of HMRC rules on the tax treatment of travel and subsistence costs. The webinar will cover travel and subsistence costs and making mileage payments made to those using their own car on business. It will include an overview of how these payments should be treated for tax and National Insurance.

There is also an online toolkit – Expenses and Benefits from Employment. Whilst this guidance is aimed at agents it is useful for employers when considering the tax treatment of benefits and expenses.
