Chancellor's Spring Statement Issued

On 13 March the Chancellor of the Exchequer provided his Spring Statement. As expected, this did not include any major tax changes, as these will be announced in the Autumn Budget. However, it did include a commitment to publish a call for evidence on the potential simplification of partial exemption and the capital goods scheme, which could mean good news for universities. HM Treasury and HMRC also published a 68-page report into tax avoidance, evasion and non-compliance.
