If you've ever wondered why some people at work seem to have 'charisma', or are better at gaining buy-in from others, or seem more confident in team meetings, or even always get that promotion, then you're not alone. A problem is that sometimes the people that 'come across' well don't always have the best ideas or, more to the point, there are lots of us with much more to contribute but are perhaps lacking the confidence and clarity to get our point across.
Well, good news: communicating well is not necessarily something that is 'inherent', and it's certainly not magic - it can be learnt. Which means that you can learn how to make sure your voice, and ideas, and story are heard. The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama offer just such courses which take place throughout November to March, and as a BUFDG member you are entitled to a 20% discount. BUFDG have already put dozens of HE sector colleagues through these courses, and we're keen that others get the chance to benefit.
