The new Statement of Recommended Practice for Further & Higher Education (FEHE SORP) will have an effective from date of 1 January 2026 and mean adoption for the 2026/27 financial year for most.
The changes reflect amendments to FRS 102, the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, by the Financial Reporting Council in March 2024.
This webinar, hosted by Harriet Latham and Kerry Sykes from Big for Tax, will explore the tax implications of the new FEHE SORP and help those working in tax or accounting roles understand and prepare for the changes.
Preperation: Ahead of the Time to Talk re. Tax Implications of the new FEHE SORP, it would be useful for those working in relevant tax roles to review your institution’s Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) and have a copy available during the session to help you participate fully in the discussion. We’ll also run a quick poll during the webinar to understand how many institutions' PE methods include a requirement to adjust either income or expenditure for variable tuition fees when allocating VAT to sectors or calculating the recovery rates for each sector. Thank you for preparing in advance.
This event will be recorded, and the recording will be uploaded to our website after the event (usually within a week). Please check the Webinars page to find the recording.
