Timings: 10 - 11.30am
Members will recall that KPMG has worked with BUFDG on the OECD’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (“BEPS”) project. This considers potential reforms to international tax systems enabling them to address the new digital economy. The proposed changes are set out in two action plans called Pillar 1 and Pillar 2 and these changes may impact on the long term treatment of the taxation of on-line learning.
On 12 October, the OECD published updated Pillar One and Pillar Two Blueprints. It is clear that the Pillar One and Pillar Two proposals have advanced considerably, with Pillar Two in particular being close to consensus. These Blueprints are now open for public consultation until 14 December 2020.
In this Time to talk Session, Ian Short from KPMG will talk through the latest OECD proposal and members will have an opportunity to discuss what should be included in a response to the proposal document.
