Timings: 10am - 1pm (on both days)
This online workshop, spread over two 3-hour modules, is for you if you already have experience of operating in a Finance Partnering approach and wish to operate more strategically, further develop the effectiveness and impact of the Finance function and your role, and gain increased organisational influence.
Intended audience:
Those established in Finance Business Partner-type role who wish to take the next step in their development and influence.
Objectives:
By the end of the course you will have:
Explored what great Finance Business Partnering across HE is, and what it could be, based on your own context
Reviewed current effectiveness of the Finance function based on core pillars for success and explored the role of the Finance Business Partner in influencing change
Identified what ‘operating more strategically’ looks like in practice
Gained strategic tools and practised using them on live challenges
Identified the role(s) you play with stakeholders and when that helps and hinders you
Worked as part of small breakout groups to explore a specific topic of your choice in more depth such as:
Understanding institutional change and your role in implementing financial changes
Handling organisational culture and politics to ensure effective decision-making and implementation
Presenting compelling cases for action
A comprehensive Finance Business Partnering Toolkit to take away and use at work
Content includes:
Assessing Finance’s strategic alignment
Finance business partnering effectiveness review, based on 5 core pillars for success
Operating as a business consultant and choosing your role situationally
Strategic toolkit and practical case studies
Focussing your influence - stakeholder and political mapping
Exploring core skills and competencies and developing a personal plan
You will also have access to Business Partnering Foundations e-learning prior to the course. (Optional)
