WELCOME!
We’re pleased to welcome you to the BUFDG Annual Meeting 2023. The Annual Meeting is our national face-to-face get together for university FDs/CFOs, taking place at Horizon in Leeds on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th May.
The ‘business programme’ is on Thursday 25th May (running from 9am – 4pm), with an informal networking dinner on the evening of Wednesday 24th May, which you are also invited to.
ACCOMODATION AND DINNER
Accommodation is available at the Leonardo (formerly Jury’s Inn), about 10 yards from the door of the conference venue. The dinner is at the Hilton Leeds City, which is a ten-minute walk from both. Accommodation, as well as the dinner, are separate items on the booking page which need to be selected – and these are set at cost price. You can find out more in the ticket options below.
PROGRAMME
The meeting on the 25th provides the opportunity to hear from a range of excellent speakers across four in-depth plenary sessions, and to network and discuss with colleagues in the sector. The sessions will cover a range of areas including policy and funding, leadership, staff and retention, regulation, sustainability, strategy, and more. Speakers confirmed so far include Jenny Higham (VC, St George’s University of London), Justin Onuekwusi (Head of Retail Multi-Asset Funds, LGIM), Smita Jamdar (Partner & Head of Education, Shakespeare Martineau), Dr. Gary Kendall (Head of Climate Strategy Implementation, NatWest), and Vanessa Wilson (CEO, University Alliance).
SUPPORTER INVOLVEMENT
Unlike other conferences, there are no stands, exhibition, or other sponsorship. We have invited just 30 Supporter Delegates from the most significant sector supporters – other representatives from banks, auditors, and pensions advisers will be there, plus one or two more. We welcome the contribution of Supporter Delegates to the sessions and discussions, and for you to network and share your expertise.
