'Larger HEPs' Meeting - January 2026

This group serves as a platform for finance leaders (FDs, CFOs or equivalent) of larger, more complex HEPs with a turnover of more than £100m to identify common challenges and opportunities, exchange ideas, and build a collective voice to influence positive change within the sector.  A reminder of the principles of the group:

  • The group seeks to work on principles of inclusion based on the common characteristics identified above. Self-definition is welcomed, for example HEPs crossing the turnover threshold and attending the ‘smaller’ <£100m turnover group if more appropriate, HEPs affiliated with mission groups wishing to join these discussions etc.
  • The group will meet three times a year, usually September/October, January/Feb, and in April/May to coincide with the BUFDG Annual Meeting (location may vary according to the conference).
  • The group is co-chaired by Alison Jarvis (CFO at University of Southampton), and Ryan Keyworth (CFO at Sheffield Hallam University).

Places are limited at each meeting to ensure the best discussion, so we do ask that you limit the number of places that your HEP books at one of these meetings to two, so that we can get opinions and feedback from a broad range of HEPs. Deputies can attend by request. 

An agenda will be circulated in advance. If you have suggestions for items that you would like to propose for the meeting, or any questions regarding booking or accessing this event, please contact Joni.

The next Larger HEPs meeting will take place on Wednesday 29 April 2025 in person in Birmingham, as part of the BUFDG Annual Meeting two-day event.
