Closure of CHIEF, use of CDS

Big news announcement from HMRC this morning confirming the closure of the Customs Handling of Imports & Exports Freight (CHIEF) on 31 March 2023. The Customs Declaration Service (CDS), currently used for NI and RoW declarations will take over from CHIEF. CHIEF will be withdrawn in two stages:
30 September 2022: import declarations close on CHIEF
31 March 2023: export declarations close on CHIEF / National Exports System (NES)
