NEW BUFDG Pro courses just launched!

As a bonus for our BUFDG Pro subscribers, we have just launched three of our new e-learning modules early – they were due to be included as part of the new package launched in August for 2020/21 but we’ve decided to launch them early as a ‘thank you’ to our BUFDG Pro subscribers.

The courses can all be accessed via our e-learning page and are:

Expenses in HE

This course will be helpful to:

  • anyone in a university working in finance, payroll or tax teams who needs to understand the tax implications of expenses, and
  • anyone working in university HR teams setting expenses policies.

The course covers:

  • the importance of following best practice for identifying and reimbursing expenses;
  • common taxable and non-taxable expenses in HE;
  • exemptions available;
  • the consequences of incorrect tax treatment of expenses.

Expenses & Benefits Reporting

This is a very short course will be helpful to those responsible for preparing, reviewing or authorising the reporting of taxable expenses and benefits to HMRC.

The course covers:

  • how to identify the different types of reporting requirements for taxable expenses and benefits;
  • the different methods of reporting these to HMRC;
  • the deadlines for submitting information and paying the relevant taxes to HMRC;
  • common errors and the consequences of incorrect treatment or reporting.
