SAE Ltd - university partners and the VAT education exemption

The recent SAE Education Ltd case considered when alternative providers working with universities could treat themselves as being a 'college of a UK university' and therefore treat their education as being exempt from VAT. The case has set down a stricter test than was previously thought necessary for determining this. EY has provided us with this note providing more information on the new test and the impact this could have on universities.
